Terms and Conditions of LD! Dance Studio Rental

1. Renting of the Studio

 

All rental bookings of the studio by members  of LD! have to go through the Commissioner of Dance. This includes rental bookings by teachers and team captains. When requesting the studio for an activity, send the CoD an email (msdv.bestuur@gmail.com) including information regarding the type of activity, the duration and the amount of people that will be expected.

All Studio bookings by external parties have to go through the Commissioner of External Relations by email (msdv.bestuur@gmail.com). 

1.1. Who needs to be present

  • When renting the studio as someone who is not a board member, teacher, or team captain, a board member must be present during the rental.
  • This ensures the security of merchandise, money boxes, and other studio property as well as making sure potential issues and questions can be solved immediately.

1.2. Rental Fees

  • The standard rental fee is €40 per hour.
  • Discounted rates apply as follows:
    • €15 per hour for LD! members for their own practice.
    • €30 per hour for members of other student sports associations.
    • €10 per hour for a LD! teacher giving a private lesson to LD! members.
    • €15 per hour for a LD! teacher giving a private lesson to non-LD! members.

1.3. Condition of Studio

  • The renter is responsible for leaving the studio clean and in dance-ready condition.
  • Any damage to the studio’s floor, mirrors, or furniture will be charged to the renter.

1.4. Cancellations

  • Cancellations must be made at least four days before the scheduled booking to avoid charges.
  • If a booking is cancelled less than four days before the scheduled time, the full rental fee still applies and must be paid.
  • Late cancellations made on the day of the rental will result in an additional €30 fine.

1.5. Studio Usage Guidelines

  • No food or drinks (except water) are allowed on the dancefloor, to protect the floor (and mirrors). The use of alcohol/ drugs in the studio is strictly prohibited.
  • Only proper dance shoes, socks or clean inside shoes can be worn to avoid damage to the floor. Shoes not specifically made for dancing have to have a white sole. High heels need to have heel protectors.
  • All users are expected to leave the studio in a clean and tidy condition after use. This includes removing trash, returning equipment to its place, and ensuring the floor is free of debris. Failure to do so may result in cleaning fees or loss of rental privileges.
  • The renter can by request use the studio’s cleaning supplies to ensure the above conditions are met. 
  • In case cleaning supplies or hygiene supplies are running low at the studio, the renter is obliged to let a board member know of this issue.

1.5.1. Cleaning Specifications

  • The studio has a laminate floor valued at €4,000 which requires special care.
  • If the floor is damaged, scratched, or left in a dirty condition requiring special cleaning, the responsible user will be held liable for the full cost of repair or replacement, including potential replacement of the floor.
  • Wet cleaning or mopping of the floor is strictly prohibited for users and may only be performed by authorised board members to prevent damage.
  • A cleaning fee may also be charged if the studio is left in a condition that requires cleaning beyond standard weekly maintenance.

1.6. Safety and Liability

  • Users are responsible for their own safety and belongings.
  • M.S.D.V. Let’s Dance! is not liable for injuries sustained or items lost during use.
