BALLROOM COMPETITION TEAM xTDS

Welcome to the competitive side of Let’s Dance!
Ready to take your ballroom dancing to the next level? Throughout the year, our dancers have the opportunity to represent Let’s Dance at student ballroom competitions (xTDS) as well as the BraDo Teammatch.

Whether you are new to competitions or already have experience on the competition floor, we are here to help you get involved, prepare, and make the most of the experience. On this page, you can find everything you need to know about upcoming competitions, registration, and participation.

Have any questions?
Feel free to reach out to your team captains through the ballroom group chats or contact us at tc.msdvletsdance@gmail.com.

What is an xTDS

Never heard of an xTDS before? No worries! xTDS competitions are ballroom dance competitions created especially for students, bringing together student dance associations from across the Netherlands and Europe.

There are two types of xTDS competitions: the NTDS (Dutch Tournament for Dancing Students) and the ETDS (European Tournament for Dancing Students). Each competition is hosted by a participating student dance association and brings together hundreds of dancers for a weekend full of ballroom dancing, competition and fun.

You definitely don’t need to be an experienced competitive dancer to join! The competitions welcome dancers of different levels, from beginners with less than a year of experience to experienced dancers who also compete at national competitions. If you would like to represent Let’s Dance at an xTDS, you can sign up through our Ballroom Team Captains, Janneke and Lotte. Whether you are competing for the first time, returning for another xTDS, or joining us as a volunteer, we would love to have you with us.

See you on the dance floor!

When do they take place?

The NTDS usually takes place once a year, around February. The ETDS is organised twice a year: once in autumn and once around Whitsun.

What is included?

Your participation fee generally includes:

  • Competition entry for Saturday and Sunday
  • A spot in the sleeping halls
  • A snack on Friday
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday
  • Breakfast and lunch on Sunday

Not sure you want to compete?

You can still join the weekend! If you want to experience the atmosphere and support the team without stepping onto the competition floor, you can sign up as a Super Volunteer.

BraDo Teammatch

BraDo brings ballroom dancers from across Brabant and Limburg together through workshops, social events and, of course, their annual Teammatch!

Once a year, dance schools and associations form teams and compete against each other in a friendly ballroom competition. Each association can enter up to two teams, making the Teammatch a great opportunity to dance together, represent Let’s Dance and meet dancers from other associations.

Let’s Dance joined the BraDo Teammatch for the first time in 2024 and we certainly made an entrance, taking home 4 out of 6 trophies! 🏆

Whether you are there to compete, cheer on your teammates or simply enjoy a day full of ballroom dancing, the BraDo Teammatch is all about team spirit, dancing and having fun together.
