FAQ

Memberships

During the first two weeks of each semester sign-ups are open for everyone. Just fill out the form on our website and make sure you have a valid UM-Sports membership if you wish to attend the regular classes.

Active members get a discount on both year and semester memberships in exchange for doing volunteer work for the association. Active members have to be a part of at least one committee and are expected to attend general members assemblies (GMAs). Committee heads will individually assess if members meet the requirements to be considered active members based on the guidelines agreed upon in the last GMA.

Memberships get automatically renewed every year or semester, depending on the type you selected. If you wish to cancel or switch your membership you need to send an email to msdv.bestuur@gmail.com stating that you wish to cancel your current membership before 30th January (first semester) or 31st August (year/ second semester) respectively.

If you wish to cancel your membership after the deadline you can do so for a fee of €15 until one month after the free cancellation deadline. If you miss that date you have to pay the full price.

Regular Classes

Regular classes start with the two-week free-trial period in September and February respectively. There are no regular classes during holidays or exam weeks. You can find the days and times for the current semester on both the homepage and the classes page. We also post our weekly schedule every Sunday on WhatsApp and Instagram.

If you have very little to no experience you should always attend Level 1. If you are at intermediate or advanced level and unsure where you belong, please refer to the diagrams on the pages of the respective classes to get a general idea. You can also always ask the teachers who will be able to assess your level more accurately.

Please discuss this with the teacher of the classes you are interested in. The levels are generally meant to group everyone of similar skill level together in order to hold effective classes but for now there is no strict exclusion as long as you meet the skill requirements. For our partner dance classes you are more likely to be allowed to join a lower level if you switch your role for that class or if there is a shortage of your role there.

Only our competition teams for the solo dances hold auditions. That being said, we always recommend talking to the teachers as they have the last say as to which level you can join.

Studio Rentals

The LD! studio is available to be booked for both commercial and non-commercial purposes outside of regular class hours. All bookings need to go through the board via msdv.bestuur@gmail.com and registered in the official bookings-calendar to be valid. You can find more details here.

Yes. If you wish to do so, please send an email with your availabilities to msdv.bestuur@gmail.com

Showcase

Yes. All members need to register for the group performances through the form that gets published around February/ March. There are no auditions for these performances but please note that teachers are permitted to exclude students that they feel are unable to perform the choreo due to an insufficient attendance of final practices

If you are not a teacher and want to do an extra performance alone or with a group from 2025/26 onwards you need to register for the audition process. Only one person per performance has to fill out the form but they need to register every participant in the group. The sign-up process will start in February.

We are introducing auditions in 2025/26 due to the sharp increase in interest to create additional performances. We are increadibly happy about the success of our showcase and everyone’s passion for it, there is however only so much time in a single show. To keep the length of the evening reasonable and ensure a diverse display of dancing talent we decided to hold auditions from this point onward.

You can buy early-bird tickets in spring 2026 through our website or Instagram.

Other

A Constitutieborrel (CoBo) is the celebratory introduction of the new board of a students (sports) association to the boards of other associations and its members. It is a big party everyone from the association can join for free with a lot of lighthearted customs between associations, such as the (consensual) kidnapping of new board members.

No, M.S.D.V. Let’s Dance! aims to foster and open and welcoming environment for everybody. There are no membership requirements outside of the ones explicitly mentioned in our sign-up form.
